Can you drive around the Lake?
Yes, there is a 30-mile Loop Drive that will take you deep into the Quinault Rainforest. Half of the drive will be on gravel road.
Are you near the rainforest?
Lake Quinault Lodge is based in the Quinault Rainforest, meaning you can walk across the road and the hiking trails will lead you in to a rainforest adventure.
How far are you from the airport?
The closest airport will be the SEATAC airport. Driving time is approximately 3 to 3 1/2 hours. Portland airport is approximately 3 hours.
Will my cellular phone work?
In this day and age cellular phones are a necessity, but in our neck of the woods they will not be of any use to you. The best advice is to bring a calling card to use at our pay phones because there are no phones in any of our rooms.
What kind of clothes should I pack?
A rain jacket is the first item to put in your suitcase! In all seasons out here there is chance of rain. We recommend bringing a sweatshirt/jacket for the evening and hiking shorts and t-shirts for the daytime.
Summertime weather: 70-90 degrees Daytime, low 60's Evening time. Wintertime weather: 40-60 degrees Daytime, 30-40 degrees Evening time.
Can I bring my pet?
Yes, Lake Quinault Lodge has eight pet-friendly units ($10.00 per pet/per night). The hiking trails on Forest Service land do allow you to take your pet on the hiking trails with a leash.
